Introduction to the Korean Society of Myocardial Infarction

Leading the Way in National Health and Acute Myocardial Infarction Treatment

The Starting Point of the Research Society

The Korean society of myocardial infarction (KSMI) traces its origins back to September 2005. At that time, the Korea Acute Myocardial Infarction Registry (KAMIR) was selected through a grant competition commemorating the 50th anniversary of the Korean Society of Cardiology, marking the beginning of the KSMI research society's activities. Initially planned for two years, the KAMIR study yielded significant research outcomes in the treatment of acute myocardial infarction, leading to the current KAMIR-7 achievements. This research has been pivotal in establishing South Korea as a global leader in acute myocardial infarction research and treatment.
